Code of Conduct

Azimuth is a place where Scouts and Guides meet and plan their international exchanges. We expect all Scouts and Guides to behave in a bona fide manner, respecting each other and the law.

When you upload content or information, you are allowing every registered User to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture).

Please do not act in any way that might violate the rights of others or hinder the functioning of Azimuth, including but not limited to:

  • posting unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam);
  • collecting Users’ content or information, or otherwise accessing the Site, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission;
  • engaging in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on the Site;
  • uploading viruses or other malicious code;
  • soliciting login information or accessing an account belonging to someone else;
  • bullying, intimidating, or harassing any User;
  • posting content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic, incites violence, or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence;
  • developing or operating a third-party application containing alcohol or drugs related, dating or other mature content (including advertisements);
  • using Azimuth and its applications to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory;
  • doing anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working or appearance of Azimuth or its applications, such as a denial of service attack or interference with page rendering or other functionality;
  • facilitating or encouraging any violations of the Specific Terms or our policies;
  • posting content or taking any action on Azimuth that infringes or violates someone else's rights or otherwise violates the law;
  • posting identification documents or sensitive financial information on Azimuth.

The Europe Region reserves the right to refuse, block and/or remove any User from Azimuth or its applications in case of violation of one or more of the above-mentioned Code of Conduct.

User Generated Content

User Generated Content contains information and views of the User and may not necessarily reflect the official opinion of WOSM. Although the Europe Region and all partners involved in the construction and maintenance of Azimuth are hosting providers and may not be held liable for any content that is placed on Azimuth or its Applications by individual User, we do monitor User Generated Content (especially via MO Admins) and will take appropriate actions to address violations, illegal acts, or misconduct. Hosting providers, as intermediaries on the Internet, provide an infrastructure that enables operators of websites and applications to store and process content and make it publicly available to third parties. Users are responsible for content that he/she posts, uploads or makes accessible to other Users and third parties using the hosting services. As hosting providers, it may not be possible for us to be aware of all the content being posted, uploaded or made available by Users. Therefore, you play an important role to inform us of any objectionable content appearing on Azimuth.

We want to provide a safe and friendly environment for you to communicate within Azimuth and use its features in a useful way. Therefore, we have implemented the following procedures that define, how new content enters Azimuth and how it is controlled.

How content is published:

All changes to a Users profile will be immediately updated in the database and displayed to other Users, when visiting the according profile page.

The publishing of Posts may have to be validated by the MO Admin of the MO the User is registered to (“Facilitator”). The necessity of this step is contingent on the settings set by the Facilitator and may depend on the Users age, or not be enforced, at all. The Facilitator may choose to change parts of the content at his/her discretion, with the aim to prevent violation of the Terms and Conditions or Additional Terms, protect User privacy or enhance readability and relevance of the content. In the event of a change made by the Facilitator, the User will be notified via Email to his/her provided Email-address. If the User should disagree with made changes, he/she should contact his Facilitator, using the “Contact Us” form of Azimuth, explaining why he/she disagrees with the changes made by the Facilitator. If disagreements can not be resolved, the User should contact us at azimuth@europak-online.net.

Above process further aims at blocking content that violates the Code of Conduct, infringes intellectual property rights, breaks the law or may generally be considered as harmful for the integrity of an individual, Azimuth or society (“Bad Content”).
To identify and prevent Bad Content, we have implemented a 3-tiered approach:

  • validation of posts by Facilitators (as described above)
  • peer control
  • notice and takedown

Peer control:

In the event that content is identified by a User as Bad Content, such User may flag the Bad Content by using the “Flag” button. Once the Bad Content has been flagged the Europe Region will take appropriate action to ensure that the matter is dealt with.

Notice and takedown:

Users may also choose to notify us of Bad Content placed on the Site. Notifications may be done by sending an e-mail to azimuth@europak-online.net . Such notification should contain the following information:

(a) name and address of the sender;
(b) explanation of why the sender is particularly affected;
(c) URL of the Bad Content;
(d) precise description of the alleged content; and
(e) reason why the content should be removed.

If we deem the content to be Bad Content, the content will be removed.

At all three stages, the Europe Region reserves the right to take all measures it deems appropriate, including but not limited to:

  • permanently deleting the content
  • restoring the content
  • blocking one or more Users
  • reporting the content to the appropriate authorities

Intellectual Property Rights

You agree to respect the intellectual property rights and personal rights of others and refrain from posting content on Azimuth or its applications in violation of such intellectual property rights. You hereby guarantee that you have the rights or proper authorization to publish and reproduce the content that you post on Azimuth or its applications.

You also own intellectual property rights on the content that you have created as an original author. Any use by the Europe Region, other Users or Admins of the content created by you requires an explicit permission from you and is otherwise prohibited.

When you delete content, it is deleted in a manner similar to emptying the recycle bin on a computer. However, you understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time (but will not be available to others). Hence, you are advised to notify us to ensure such content is removed from the servers.

Translations

MO Admins can provide a translation to parts, or all of the content and user interface of Azimuth, not including User generated content. Users have no claim to be able to access Azimuth, or any of its content in their own language. The Europe Region is not responsible for checking provided translations and can not be held accountable for content of the translations that deviate from the English version. In the event that any translated version of the content or user interface conflict with the English version, the English version shall prevail.
